According to a report by the tabloid Bild, German police prevented a van from entering the country from the Netherlands. The vehicle was found to contain:

• two zebras
• six monkeys
• an antelope
• a swan
• a bird of prey known as a buzzard
• a serval—a wild African cat notable for its large ears

The police officers halted the van on a secondary road near the city of Bunde, Lower Saxony, as part of heightened border controls.

It was revealed that the individuals transporting the animals lacked the necessary documentation, and the creatures were not properly secured within the vehicle. Consequently, law enforcement officials denied entry to the van, which bore Polish license plates. The animals were subsequently taken by the Dutch police to a specialized facility.
